Meet the Owner
Alexandra – Founder & Animal Lover
Hi! I’m Alexandra—Annapolis native, St. Mary’s of Annapolis graduate, lifelong animal lover, and proud founder of Sailor’s Dog Walking & Pet Care. I started the company in January 2022 after graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in Communications. My mission was simple: to provide pet parents with exceptional, reliable, trustworthy, and truly one-of-a-kind pet care.
The heart behind the creation of Sailor’s is my dog, Sailor. My family and I adopted him as a puppy in 2013 from the Lancaster, PA SPCA. I still remember the excitement of the day we brought him home! From that moment on, Sailor became not only a cherished member of our family, but my very best friend.
Throughout his life, Sailor faced many challenges, including epilepsy, food allergies, diabetes, and eventually blindness. Together, we navigated every obstacle. He taught me patience, resilience, and the incredible power of unconditional love. Caring for him showed me just how essential attentive routines are and how deeply our pets rely on us. His journey is the reason I understand the importance of detail-oriented care and why I’m so passionate about helping other families feel supported and understood.
I absolutely love what I do. Every day, I’m grateful for the opportunity to meet new pets, learn their unique quirks, and build meaningful connections with their families. At Sailor’s, we treat your pets like our own because they deserve nothing less. We love them as much as you do!

Pet Care Specialist II
Ever since I can remember I’ve had a great love for animals and being outside in nature. Specifically I’ve always felt a deep connection and understanding to dogs!
As a child, learning to care for our family dogs was a desire and deep need, not a chore. Caring for them was fulfilling and rewarding to me. I remember walking our family’s dog, Maggie, through wooded trails and feeling a total sense of peace. Sharing that moment with Maggie was a bonding experience I’ll never forget. It is one of my favorite childhood memories.
I got my first job working on a horse farm, where I eagerly learned all that was involved in horse care. For several years, I continued to expand my knowledge of horses, along with dog and cat care, by working in rescue shelters and boarding facilities in Maryland and Georgia. These jobs made me realize that working with animals is my true calling.
I believe our pets are family, not just companions. I am so happy to be part of the Sailors team where we give the best care and attention to your pets possible. It truly brings me joy to build bonds with them as I discover all of their different and amazing personalities!
Some of my favorite things to do when I’m not out walking and hiking with my dog Willow is creating artwork, gardening, and being out on the water!
